Proface Connect remotely accesses, manages and troubleshoots machines

February 27, 2018  By P&PC Staff

Feb. 27, 2018 – Pro-face America has released Proface Connect, describing it as a ready-to-use embedded HMI service that allows customers to access machines from anywhere at anytime.

Most current Pro-face HMIs and iPCs are Pro-face Connect ready allowing users to access to their machines remotely to program, troubleshoot, and maintain the unit’s performance, says Pro-face. The solution promises to be easy to configure based on familiar HMI panels and software, and there is no need for extra hardware or accessories, notes the company. By adding the Pro-face Connect Link Manager license, customers can expand their abilities to manage other devices connected to the HMI, including PLCs.

Pro-face follows a Secure Development Lifecycle (SDL) process, which includes penetration tests, threat model analysis, and requirements from the cybersecurity committee of Schneider Electric, Pro-face’s parent company. This process allows Proface Connect to be compliant with industry standards for security, making it the “ideal solution for managing multiple machines at multiple locations,” says the company.
